How it begins
Once upon a time, in a land far away where there were still fairies, there lived a king and queen. They had plenty of money, plenty of fine clothes, plenty of good things to eat and drink, and a carriage to ride in every day. But although they had been married for many years, they had no children, and this made them very sad.
