Privacy Policy
How Classics collects, uses, and protects your personal information.
Last updated: March 2026
1. Who We Are
This service is operated by Classics ("we", "us", "our"). We run Classics in Your Voice, a service that lets you record your voice and receive personalised audiobooks of classic literature as a gift for your loved ones.
For any privacy-related questions or requests, please use our contact form.
2. What Data We Collect
When you place an order or contact us, we collect:
- Your name and email address — to process and confirm your order.
- Your phone number (optional) — to send an SMS order confirmation.
- Recipient names and email addresses — to deliver the finished recording.
- Your voice recording — to generate your personalised audiobooks using AI voice twinning technology.
- Order and payment details — handled securely by Stripe; we never see your card number.
- Contact form messages — name, email, phone (optional), and message content.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To process your order and generate your personalised audiobook recordings.
- To send you order confirmation and delivery emails (via SendGrid).
- To send an SMS confirmation if you provide a phone number (via Twilio).
- To respond to your contact form enquiries.
- To improve and operate our service.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Voice Recordings
Your voice recording is stored on our servers solely to generate your audiobook recordings. It is used only for AI voice twinning to produce your order and is not shared with any party other than our AI processing infrastructure (see Section 5).
If you would like your voice recording deleted after your order is fulfilled, please contact us via the contact form with your Order ID and we will remove it promptly.
5. Third-Party Services
We share data with the following trusted processors to operate our service:
- Stripe — payment processing. Your payment data is handled entirely by Stripe under their own privacy policy. We receive only a confirmation of payment and an order reference.
- SendGrid — transactional email delivery (order confirmations, download links).
- Twilio — SMS notifications (if you provide a phone number).
- AI processing infrastructure — your voice audio may be processed on our secure cloud compute servers solely to generate your order. No third party retains this data after processing.
6. Data Retention
- Order records and contact submissions — retained as long as necessary for support and legal compliance.
- Voice recordings — retained until your order is complete. You may request deletion at any time.
- Generated audio files — download links expire after 30 days. Files are removed after expiry.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Deletion — request that we delete your personal data and voice recording.
- Correction — request that we correct inaccurate data.
- Objection — object to how we process your data.
To exercise any of these rights, please use the contact form and include your Order ID where applicable. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Cookies and Local Storage
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. Our website uses browser local storage to temporarily save your progress through the order form so you do not lose your work if you navigate away. This data stays on your device and is cleared when your order is complete.
9. Security
We use HTTPS for all data in transit. Voice files and order data are stored on access-controlled servers. Only authorised staff can access customer data.
10. Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
12. Contact
